- Spring 2011: Replace Roads, Curbs, and Gutters, Phase VI

  • Project Description: Provide labor and materials for demolition, removal and disposal of existing facilities, grading and drainage operations for Matt Urban Drive, Shafter Circle (N, S, E), Engineering Shops Access Drive Areas, and Parking Lots #1, 2, 11, 14A, 15A, 18

- Replace Roads, Curbs, and Gutters, Phase V (an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Project)

      - Completed: 4Q2010
      - Project Description: General construction and alterations to
        roads, curbs, gutters, storm sewer systems, and specified
        parking and walkways within the VA Medical Center. Also 
        included the demolition, removal, and disposal of existing
        infrastructure, grading, and drainage operations.




- Correct Environment of Care (EOC) Deficiencies Phase I and II, Building 39
  • Scheduled Completion: December 2011
  • Project Description: While the scope of work is identified in two phases, the project was awarded as a single construction project; CMGS is being required to coordinate the full scope of work between the two simultaneous project phases. CMGS shall completely prepare the site for building operations (including demolition and removal of existing structures) and furnish all needed labor and materials as required by drawings and specifications. Further, CMGS shall provide all tools, equipment, material, labor and supervision necessary for Phase I and Phase II renovations to the existing building 39, including nurse’s stations, video surveillance, restrooms, dayroom, offices, patient rooms and associated areas. Work will include the demolition of existing areas, new plumbing, electrical, mechanical, equipment and finish construction (e.g., repair of ceilings, floors and wall finishes and the replacement of all interior doors, handrails) as well as associated building modifications required to perform the work, and the necessary removal of existing structures and construction. Further, CMGS will furnish all labor, materials, equipment, etc. to add a new lower level entrance, walkway, parking area and to make courtyard improvements
- Replace Energy Management System
  • Completed: May 2010
  • Project Description: Furnished all labor, materials and equipment to retrofit existing controllers/equipment with the most current technology, including a high level of interoperability and scalability, which will facilitate future system expansion and upgrades.
    • Replaced existing input and output devices as required for functionality
    • Incorporated innovative control strategies to increase energy efficiency
    • Enabled a 'single seat' user interface environment

- Upgrade Water Facility Improvements (another ARRA project)

  • Project Description:
    • Water Main Distribution Extensions: included installation and directional borings, marker balls and a final survey to allow for geospatial mapping of the installed lines
    • Vehicle Wash Rack Improvement: included a new wash rack pad, and a new drainage system and cleaning / attachment to the existing oil/water separator. Built a new 20 x 20 pump building to house the hose storage and a separate room for the (hot / cold) booster pumps
    • Domestic Soft Water System Modifications: includes revisions to the water softener system, including controls and installation to the exterior hose bibs and the first floor drinking faucets

  • Project Description: Furnished all labor, material, equipment and supervision to Repair Building 6916. Included addition of access flooring, floor grills for HVAC, drop ceilings, finish carpet squares and railing at stairs.
